Tunbridge Wells Orpheus Male Voice Choir held a highly successful 80th anniversary Celebration Concert which was attended by Colonel James Partridge TD DL, who was representing the Lord-Lieutenant of Kent at the event.

Conducted by Richard Walshaw, the Choir’s varied programme included many popular classics such as the Pearl Fishers Duet, Skye Boat Song, Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera and a WW1 medley to commemorate the end of that war 100 years ago. Adam Crane the Accompanist also teamed up with fellow music teacher and electric guitarist Ian O’Neal in some very accomplished classic rock numbers as guest performers. 16 year-old Tenor Seb Turner-Moore from Bennett Memorial School impressed everyone with his solo performance.

John Cohen, the Choir’s Chairman & Business Manager, said “We were delighted to sing in front of such distinguished and special guests and we thank everyone who came for helping to make this concert so special for us in our 80th year. We especially appreciate the Mayor’s acknowledgement of the choir service to the community.”
