The QAVS was instituted in the The Queen’s Golden Jubilee year 2002 and is announced on the anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation 2 June 1953.
This year there is one winner from Kent:

The Square Pegs Drama Club was set up around 10 years ago for children and young adults with special needs. It is run by around 20 volunteers and the group is based in Chatham, Canterbury and Maidstone. 

The Lord-Lieutenant congratulates this organisation on its award, the equivalent of a corporate MBE.
