This year, Local Charities Day is highlighting the importance of giving by encouraging people to pledge their time to a local charity, alongside championing the phenomenal and life-changing work of local charities, while shining a huge spotlight on local charity champions – the unsung heroes who always go the extra mile for their charity, the people and causes they support.
Local Charities Day, Friday 14th December, 2018
The Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) are leading on Local Charities Day in December and charities are being encouraged to put their details on the Local Charities map https://localcharitiesdaymap.co.uk/. Local charities can nominate themselves so it is great publicity for individual charities too. DCMS are keen to build on the success of the last two years, where people, communities and organisations from across the UK have shown tremendous support for their local charities by getting involved.
